Shelter

HERDS is dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable street children through our Rehabilitation of Street Children programme. Every year, we identify around 30 children living in challenging conditions at railway stations, footpaths, and other public spaces, and we bring them to our safe and nurturing shelter home.

Impact of the Programme:

Through this initiative, HERDS has helped many street children transition from life on the streets to a supportive environment that nurtures growth and development. The Rehabilitation of Street Children programme provides them with the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty and envision a brighter, more hopeful future.
HERDS is committed to protecting and empowering vulnerable children, ensuring they receive the care, education, and support they deserve. Our mission is to help them thrive, one child at a time.

Programme Highlights

Rescue and Shelter

Our team actively seeks out children in need, providing them with a safe haven away from the streets. Children are brought to our shelter home, where they receive care, guidance, and a sense of belonging.

Education and Personal Development

Each child is given access to quality education, helping them to build a strong foundation for their future. Through structured learning and personal development activities, we aim to ignite their potential and encourage positive growth.

Nutritious Food and Healthcare

We provide nutritious meals daily to ensure that the children are healthy and strong. Regular health check-ups and medical care are part of the program to address any physical or emotional issues they may have.

Pathways to a Better Future

Beyond immediate care, our program focuses on long-term rehabilitation, equipping children with skills and confidence to reintegrate into society. We work with each child individually, aiming to prepare them for a self-reliant and dignified life.
