COVID-19 Relief for Migrant Labourers
Programme Highlights
Distribution of Food Kits
HERDS provided nutritional food kits to more than 1,000 migrant workers, ensuring they had enough to eat during the lockdown period. Each kit contained staple items like rice, lentils, cooking oil, and spices, covering basic dietary needs.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Hygiene Kits
Masks and hygiene products were distributed to ensure health and safety during the pandemic. Awareness sessions were conducted to educate recipients on COVID-19 safety protocols and hygiene practices.
Community Engagement and Outreach:
HERDS reached several villages across the region, setting up distribution points at Rajupalem, Somapuramu, Duvvur, and Proddatur. Volunteers, along with local leaders and government officials, ensured smooth distribution and coordination.
Support for Vulnerable Migrants
Special focus was given to migrant labourers, women, and the elderly, ensuring that everyone received timely support. Collaborative efforts helped connect these workers with additional resources and rehabilitation networks.
